Each undergraduate chapter and its membership are responsible for local operations and for upholding the values, policies, and traditions of Sigma Alpha Mu. The Octagon, alumni volunteers and professional staff work to provide undergraduate chapters and colonies with advice guidance and support for positive and successful operations. The Fraternity office provides numerous resources for chapter leaders to assist on their management of local operations. It is expected that undergraduate leaders will use the resources to support the positive development of their chapter in the critical areas of leadership, scholarship, campus involvement, recruitment, and community services.
