SAM is back at Oklahoma, Indiana and Stony Brook

Full Story:

As the academic year comes to a close, the Octagon has been working to grow the Fraternity. Earlier this year a group at Northeastern and Johnson & Wales were added, and this spring, efforts lead by outgoing Director of Expansion Martin Shapan, lead to the return to these three SAM campuses.

SIGMA ALPHA MU (Oklahoma) - A group of men identified by SAM Foundation Trustee Bob Weiss were colonized in April. The eleven-man group is working hard to reestablish our historic Sigma Alpha chapter.

SIGMA ZETA (Indiana) - After a one-year absence, preliminary steps have been taken to build a new chapter on the Bloomington campus. Executive Director Emeritus presided over the initiation of a core group of men dedicated to building a positive fraternity experience at IU. An alumni advisory board is forming that includes long-time faculty advisor Henry Remak.

DELTA THETA (Stony Brook) - Area alumni identified a twenty-five men group that is prepared to bring back Delta Theta. Supreme Exchequer Rice colonized the group on May 6.

With the return of these three groups, the Fraternity now has sixty chapters and four colonies, up from fifty-seven chapters and four colonies in the fall. Next year plans include the reactivation of Washington U. (Phi), Rutgers (Sigma Delta), Drexel (Mu Eta) and other locations.
