Sigma Alpha Mu Returns to Washington University and George Washington University

This fall one of the Octagon's top priorities has been the growth of the chapter roll. Already this fall a new colony was added at Boston University and as the fall came to a close, expansion efforts by Field Representative Jason Stone resulted in the Fraternity's return to two important campuses.

In late November Jason was contacted by a group of twenty-five men interested in starting a chapter at George Washington University, the site of Sigma Alpha Mu's Beta Omicron Chapter. Jason and Regional Governor Ben Pearlmen met with the group and made a recommendation that the group be affiliated. After the petition was reviewed the colony status was granted to the group. The men of Beta Omicron colony are now working hard to bring the group to full chapter status.

Another new group was colonized in early December at Washington University, the site of SAM's Phi chapter. A group of sophomores was recruited and pledged by Jason. Staff and members of the expansion committee will be on campus next semester with the goal of adding a large winter new member class. With a successful winter class SAM will return to its historic place on the Washington University Greek Row.

Efforts are now underway to colonize at Rutgers, Florida, and Washington. If you know of men at these or any other school contact the Fraternity Office.
