Centennial Campaign: Frequently Asked Questions

Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes. The ΣΑΜ Foundation is a 501(c)(3) educational foundation. If you work for an employer with a matching charitable gift program, we encourage you to ask if your gift qualifies for a matching gift.

Will the ΣΑΜ Foundation still conduct an Annual Fund Drive during the Second Century Campaign?
Yes. The Annual Fund allows the ΣΑΜ Foundation to provide immediate support to the Fraternity and its chapters and colonies.

How will this campaign benefit my chapter?
With greater financial resources in place, we will be in a position to offer more chapter-focused programming at the regional Chapter Leaders Days and the Leadership Conference. We will also have greater freedom and flexibility to award both merit-based and need-based scholarships to members of your chapter. Another exciting benefit of the Second Century Campaign is the identification of new alumni volunteers who can be tapped to support local chapters and colonies as mentors, advisors, etc.

Can I restrict my gift to be used only for my chapter?
While the ideal gift is an unrestricted one that can benefit all Sigma Alpha Mu, a donation restricted for your chapter would be most welcome. You may donate for your chapter only, or establish a separate restricted fund to meet your charitable intent.

Are there any naming opportunities?
Yes. We would be happy to discuss existing naming opportunities with you. Please contact a member of our campaign leadership team for more information.

What kind of commitment have ΣΑΜ leaders made to ensure the success of the Second Century Campaign?
Leading fraters have personally pledged in excess of $2,700,000 to the Second Century Campaign to demonstrate their commitment and to encourage others to join them. Over one half of our $5 million goal has been met.

Who is running the Second Century Campaign and managing the financial resources generated by this effort?
The campaign is managed by Directors of the ΣΑΜ Foundation, of which it is an official program. Funds generated are being prudently and carefully invested, managed, and administered by ΣΑΜ Foundation.
